To Create New Class Codes

Class (classification) codes are categories that allow for the grouping of unit rules. Classifying unit rules is a means of classifying compatible units, making it possible to associate more than one compatible unit with the same set of feature attribute values. Thus class codes provide the capability to associate multiple units with a feature type for automatic unit assignment.

The Class Code Editor is used to create new class codes.

  1. From the Tools menu, select CU Rule Editor to open the Compatible Units Rule Editor.
  2. Click Class Code Editor to open the Class Code Editor dialog box.
  3. Click New and then double-click the empty box to make it editable.
  4. Type a unique name for the new class code in the box and click OK to close the dialog box and save the new item.
